The show features Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten and many more. Anna Paquin plays the role of Sookie Stackhouse who is a Human-Fairy Hybrid works as a waitress at Merlotte that is in the small town of Bon Temps and that place is owned by Sam (Sam Trammell) who is a shape shifter. The first season revolves around the several women's murder and the Detective Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) targets Jason as a prime suspect in the investigation.Later it is revealed that Rene best friend of Jason was the murderer and she is killed by Sookie in the final confrontation.
Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) is sookie's best friend works as a bartender at Merlotte's. Tara has an abusive mother and she kicked out of her house and later she met with an drunk driving accident. She is taken in by the social worker Maryann Forrester (Michelle Forbes).
In the season the vampires and the human's conflicts are expanded. Many new cast members are introduced in the second season. Maryann starts making her control on Bon Temps. Daphne is exposed as working for Maryann. Jason is also leaving Bon Temps for Dallas. Later in this season the vampire queen of Louisiana Sophie-Anne Leclerq (Evan Rachel Wood) is introduced. Eric and Bill visit the queen in order to find out how to defeat Maryann.
The third season premiered on June 13, 2010 and contained 12 episodes. It also introduces the Vampire King of Mississippi - Russell Edgington.In the fourth season Sookie gets in relationship with Eric. Steve Newlin reappears as vampire. Fifth season aired on 12 June 2012 and consist of 12 episodes.
